How to Split an Image into Pieces

Splitting an image — for an Instagram 3×3 grid, a carousel, or map tiles — means cutting one picture into equal sections. You can do it by cropping.

Step 1: Plan the grid

Decide the layout (e.g. 3 columns). Note the full width and divide by the number of columns to get each tile's width.

Step 2: Crop each tile

Open the Crop Image tool. For each tile, enter the exact width, height and X/Y offset, then download. Repeat for every section.

Tips

• Start from a high-resolution image so each tile stays sharp.
