When you paste a link into Facebook, X, LinkedIn or a chat app, the preview image comes from the page's Open Graph (og:image) tag.

The size

Use 1200×630 pixels (1.91:1). It renders crisply everywhere and is the safe universal size. Smaller images get blurry; the wrong ratio gets cropped awkwardly.

Tips

  • Keep key text and faces centered — edges may be trimmed on some apps.
  • Aim for a file under ~1 MB so previews load fast — run it through compress image.
