Why a 100 KB limit?
Smaller files upload faster and cost less to store, so forms often reject anything over 100 KB. Compression lowers file size by re-encoding the image at a smaller quality setting.
Steps to get under 100 KB
- Open the compressor below and drop in your image.
- Drag the quality slider down; watch the live output size.
- Stop as soon as the size drops under 100 KB, then download.
Tips
- Photos compress much better than flat graphics — for logos/screenshots, resizing the dimensions helps more than quality.
- If you can't reach 100 KB on quality alone, reduce the pixel dimensions first, then compress.
- JPG usually hits a small target like 100 KB more easily than PNG.
