Why a 1 MB limit?

Smaller files upload faster and cost less to store, so forms often reject anything over 1 MB. Compression lowers file size by re-encoding the image at a smaller quality setting.

Steps to get under 1 MB

Tips

  • Photos compress much better than flat graphics — for logos/screenshots, resizing the dimensions helps more than quality.
