Why HEIC won't open

HEIC saves space but is newer and not supported everywhere — especially older Windows, web forms and many editors. JPG is supported by virtually everything.

How to convert

  1. Open the converter below and drop in your HEIC file.
  2. It is decoded and re-saved as JPG locally in your browser.
  3. Download the JPG — now openable on any device.

Tips

  • To stop the problem at the source, set your iPhone camera to "Most Compatible" (Settings → Camera → Formats).
  • Converting to JPG is also handy before uploading to forms that reject HEIC.
