Why is my image rejected?
Upload forms cap file size to save bandwidth and storage. A modern phone photo is often 3-8 MB, which easily blows past a 1-2 MB limit. The pixel dimensions are usually fine — it is the file size in MB/KB that fails.
How to fix it
- Open the compressor below and drop in your photo.
- Drag the quality slider down and watch the live output size.
- Stop once it is under the form's limit, then download and upload the smaller file.
Tips
- If you still can't get small enough, reduce the pixel dimensions first, then compress.
- JPG reaches small sizes more easily than PNG for photos.
- Everything runs locally, so even ID documents stay private.
