Why it happens
Cameras record orientation as EXIF metadata rather than physically rotating the pixels. Apps that respect EXIF show it correctly; those that don't show it sideways.
How to fix it
- Open the rotate tool below and load your photo.
- Rotate it so it looks correct on screen.
- Download — the new file has the rotation baked into the pixels, so every site shows it upright.
Tips
- This also strips the confusing EXIF orientation tag.
- If a batch is all rotated the same way, fix one to confirm the direction, then repeat.
