Why it happens

Cameras record orientation as EXIF metadata rather than physically rotating the pixels. Apps that respect EXIF show it correctly; those that don't show it sideways.

How to fix it

  1. Open the rotate tool below and load your photo.
  2. Rotate it so it looks correct on screen.
  3. Download — the new file has the rotation baked into the pixels, so every site shows it upright.

Tips

  • This also strips the confusing EXIF orientation tag.
  • If a batch is all rotated the same way, fix one to confirm the direction, then repeat.
