Why it happens

Chat apps re-encode images on send. A huge 8 MB photo gets squeezed aggressively, which is where the blur comes from. Sending "as file" (原图/文件) skips most of this — but only if the file isn't enormous.

How to send clearer photos

  1. Use the compressor below to make a clean, moderate-size version (around 1-2 MB) at ~85% quality.
  2. In WeChat, choose Send as File or tick HD/Original when available.
  3. The receiver now gets your controlled version instead of an over-squeezed one.

Tips

  • Don't upscale a small image hoping for sharpness — it only adds blur.
  • A 1-2 MB JPG at 85% usually survives chat compression well.
